These will be available on your online store by this evening. Perfect timing too, I just bought a new camera last night. A Nikon D60. I am obsessed with taking photos now.

4th. of July Preparations

It's almost the 4th. of July are you ready?  Have you pulled out your Americana stuff from out of storage?  That is what I did this week.  Here is what I pulled out of storage to celebrate our independence.  This is a gazebo outside of our store I enjoyed hanging these bunt flags. Do you have any other ideas for dressing up my gazebo for other holidays ?

Vintage Apothecary Button Vase

I bought these Apothecary jars and they just seemed like they were missing something. So I decided to fill them with these vintage buttons that I found. I really love they way they turned out. With just some black ribbon I dressed the apothecary jars with some rhinestone jewelry.

Home of the Free Because of the Brave

Home of the Free Because of the Brave

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day.  We should ask ourselves why do we celebrate this day?  What does it stand for?  It is a day to honor the brave.  The people who have fought for this land that we call home.  Our Free Land.

Visitor

Jake the Duck
Today, we had a visitor stop by the store.  Jake, the duck.  He showed up out of no where on a busy city day.  I guess being such a nice day he decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood.  I think he enjoyed being photographed.  He was even smiling for the paparazzi.

Our Beach House

Here is a peak at what my parent's summer home looks like. I was lucky I had an opportunity to design it myself. I decided to go a little more tasteful than there tradional look they always tend to, since it is their sumer house. I am sure they are happy with the result. As you can see the color scheme I picked is red, black and white with hints of khaki. When I saw the red couches I knew I had to have them. To soften the bright red I accented it with black pillows. All the furniture has that distressed look to it. As if it once belonged to my greatgrandmother. A way to get the distressed look is quite easy. Grad a hammer and just bang away, or even a bag of pennies can do the trick.
I guess my mom did like it look at that smile.
